RECREATIONAL LEAGUE - Boys Grades 3-12 and Girls 3-6

For Grades 3-8, registration runs from 8/24-10/20. COST $290.

High School registration open until 10/25.

Boys Leagues register by Grade level and the Girls Leagues register by Grades 1-3rd & 4-6th.

Teams practice once per week for 75 mins(day/time selected by coach) and play a game on Saturday.

Evaluations for Boys & Girls Grades 3-8 are required. These will be held 10/22-10/23.

Wearing Duke Basketball attire is strongly encouraged!

Coaches draft teams 10/24-11/1 and team notifications/practice slot info will be sent no later than 11/7.  Please do not request a team change after rosters are finalized.  If you cannot practice on certain days or have special team requests, please put this under COMMENTS when you register.  We will attempt to accomodate these if possible but no guarantees can be made.

Practices will begin Sunday, 11/13 for teams who have Sunday practices.  All other practices will begin Monday, 11/14 at our Elementary and Middle Schools.  Practices will be an hour and 15 minutes. League will follow the UCPS Holiday Schedule. Directions can be found under WCWAA Gym Locations and Directions under the Basketball tab.

Middle and High School registration is extended to accommodate school tryouts and full refunds will be granted upon making a school team. Middle School players are permitted to participate in WCWAA. The High School league allows players to create their own teams in two divisions: 9th/10th & 11th/12th.

• Head coach submits a team roster to High School commissioner Scott Barberio - sbarberio@carolina.rr.com
• No late fees for Middle or High School players due to school tryouts
• Full refund for any player who makes a school team

There are no evaluations at the high school level. Games are held Saturday and practices on Sunday. Players who are not attached to a team can still register and will be assigned to an exisiting team or grouped to create a new squad. All teams must have an adult as head coach. Please note that if you make a high school team, you cannot participate in this league per Union County rules.There are caps on each league and once filled, there will be a waitlist.  You will be notified if a space opens up and remit payment at that time. 

Coaches are parent volunteers so teams of 7-9 players are formed based on the number of coaches. If you are interested in coaching, please fill out the INTENT TO COACH form under the BASKETBALL TAB.  A background check will be processed.
